For as long as I can remember, Emma has been filled with an unquenchable sense of exploration!
As a little one crawling through the autumn leaves ~ she had to feel the crunch of them, taste the color, examine the ridges and lines on each. She doesn’t miss anything.
In the early years, Saturday afternoons would find us at the park, especially by the water. My sweet Louise would bring her bucket and her net, in hopes of catching a frog. By age three, she could discriminate males from females by the size of their “ear discs”.
As you might imagine, I became very accustomed to these amphibian visitors : ) They would stay with us for a day or two. You know…for the usual and customary amphibian guest activities. LOL.
Doesn’t everyone entertain frogs at their house in the summer?!
~ We had “story-time” when Emma would read picture books to our new friends.
~ An introduction to the our cats (always a favorite as I’m sure you can imagine).
~ And some interior decorating (typically in the form of grasses, rocks and moss).
Then we would set the frog free again. Back to the pond, so that he could be reunited with his family.
…
In her preschool years, every day was an adventure for Emma to find more of the wonders of life!
